 Ms. O'Lakes
Lily O’Lakes, current CEO of Land O’ Lakes, has worked her way up the corporate ladder since she modeled (uncredited) for the Land O’ Lakes company logo in the 1930’s. Ms. O’Lakes was discovered by the illustrator Arthur C. Hanson sculpting butter at Ramsey County, Minnesota’s annual county fair. Management thought a robust young dairy lover was the perfect image for their products. While she continued to sculpt on the side, she aquired a receptionist position at Land O’ Lakes. Her superiors noted her enthusiasm and knowledge of dairy products, and after numerous promotions she finally reached the top two years ago. Ms. O’Lakes still sculpts butter competitively, and generously volunteers to sculpt Dairy Princess finalists in the Minnesota State Fair’s “Princess Kay of the Milky Way” competition.
