Girls Will Be Girls – Special ‘Rejected’ Edition!!

So, today, I present proud-ish-ly to you a comic I wrote for an anthology a few months back about adults’ lies to children. This 4 page mini was totally an experiment for me, as this is one of the few straight-up autobiographical comics I’ve ever done, so take it as you will. It got rejected, so I was told, because it was too long, and I was unwilling to cut it to 2 pages (and not for it’s unrelenting crapitude? Confidence restored!!).
My tale is the story of the lie my parents told me to keep me from lying (or, The Story of the Story About Lying to Stop Lies). The ‘black mark’ method was actaully was very effective, until I figured out the only thing that kept me from lying was this rediculous lie my Mom concocted. That’s when I started lying like a rug.
So, without further ado, I present “The Black Tongue; or The Story of the Story About Lying to Stop Lies” (click below to see the other 3 pages!)
